Designing Nathanael Alexander’s brand

Twenty years ago, as a teenager, I walked into a random barber shop in my hometown, expecting just a haircut. Instead, I met Nathanael — someone who would later become a friend and one of the best hairstylists in the country.

Since that first encounter, I’ve watched him refine his craft across four different hair salons, always impressed by his dedication and precision. So when he decided to open his salon, there was no question — I wanted to help him shape his brand from the beginning.

Logo: clean and timeless

The logo had to reflect Nathanael’s professionalism and attention to detail. It’s clean, modern, and versatile—designed to work seamlessly across all platforms, from his website to the signage at his new location. The bold black-and-white simplicity makes it memorable, just like Nathanael’s high-quality service.

Building anticipation with the announcement

Before the website launched, we created an announcement to introduce Nathanael’s new salon. The announcement should convey the excitement of the brand and the level of personalized service clients could expect. This was more than just a new salon; it was a new chapter for Nathanael.

Simplicity on the web

The website had to reflect the same elegance and simplicity that defines Nathanael’s work. With a minimalistic layout and sophisticated typography, it’s easy to explore the services and glimpse the atmosphere that awaits them in the salon. It’s all about providing a smooth, seamless introduction to Nathanael’s world.

Bringing the brand to life

Obviously, the brand doesn’t just live online — it comes to life in the physical space. The logo is displayed inside the Mandarin Oriental Savoy in Zurich, setting the tone for the personalized experience clients can expect. Walking into the salon, you feel the same attention to detail and quality that the brand promises.

Here’s to another twenty years of friendship and success, Nathanael. I’m proud to have shared this journey with you.
